The Galicians love a fiesta.
Carnival is a fiesta celebrated throughout Spain and it really is just a big party and parade, and an excuse for everyone to dress up.
Here in Vilagarcia and the rest of Galicia it is called Entroido. We decided to go and check out the parade. We only caught the end of the parade but it was fun to see so many people dress up to watch the parade.
In Galicia at the end of the week long Entroido events they also celebrate the “Enterro da Sardiña” which is the funeral of the sardine.
This was held in a small fishing village nearby but we did not manage to get there but the video posted by the local concello shows you much they love any reason to celebrate. (watch to the end and with your sound on!)
