Parc Natural del Delta de l’Ebre

On the way to collect Luis (our son) from Barcelona Airport, we stopped halfway near Deltebre to explore the Parc Natural del Delta de l’Ebre. Spain again shows its diversity as this region is a huge delta where the Elbro River meets the Mediterranean Sea. The Ebro is the longest river (987 km) in Spain that starts in Cantabria in the North.

It is also a large rice-producing area and we had hoped we would be there to see the fields flooded with water but I think we were a few weeks early. The area is renowned for its birdlife and its bicycling tracks. It was quite dry and unfortunately, the region was experiencing lots of sea fog and dust but despite this, I still really loved the area and we will try and return when the water has been released.
