Escaping the heat… and exploring some nearby villages.

We decided to head inland a few weeks ago as the heat and humidity were high. We knew inland would probably be a bit hotter but no humidity.

We headed into a couple of villages nearby. Ribesalbes is known for it’s ceramica production and the other Fanzara, or it’s street art. We will return to both when it is not as hot but the whole region was lovely.

We did a circuit on our way home and as usual checked our maps for a small village to have lunch. In this case it wasn’t much more than 10 houses on the main road rather than a village but Sant Pau d’Albocàsser had a cafe that was meant to serve good hamburgers and so we decided to stop.

To our surprise it was also home to Ermita de Sant Pau d’Albocàsser (hermitage) which is where the cafe was so had lunch and a quick look around the amazing church and hermitage before heading home.
